Last week started off in a weird way - It was my first week of not doing B303S, no one really noticed or cared, so that made my decision more final .. hurts but not surprised sadly By Tuesday afternoon I was in the role of Florence Nightingale. Cookie had gotten into and eaten something bad - dead rabbit or gopher. She fell sick instantly (her auto immune disorder etc) She lost her wag, appetite (I know right!) and wouldn't drink or move. All energy and oomph had gone. For 3 days she was this way and I was giving her water every hour - first by syringe then held a small bowl for her to drink from her bed. on the 2nd night I was preparing to say say goodbye to her - again - this is the 4th time! third day we had decided we weren't going to take her the vet and just let her go in her sleep and avoid all stress of getting her in the Jeep and being at the vets. 4th day - The wag returns and she is eating and by the 5th day - Cookie is back to normal . She don't half mess with my emotions this one!
Fencing - this was friday - (Cookie's 3rd day of sickness) we left her and Oscar in the house (company for her) and we went up to a fenceline that was damaged. Barney came too so he would also leave Cookie alone. 3 trees had fallen across the fenceline and then next ranch's cows were demolishing the rest. As this is a fence out state we had to go sort that out - we do not want cows on our property, let alone pay the owner of the cow decides to kill itself by walking down a canyon. that took a couple of hours and working on the ranch tan too! Saturday Jay was over and the 3 of us were outside for a few hours. (Cookie was now outside with us) First it was take down a gate. For the winter months Tinker and Shoshoni do not access to both pastures like Dakota and Champ do with theirs, So we took a redundant gate from the entrance . no clue how long it had been there but it was not complying with moving. the 2 bolts in the post were not wanting to slide out. Mallet time! We then strung 3 lines of wire and made that secure and tight and fence like! Alan and Jay then carried the gate down to the new location . First it was un-hook all the wire from the two wooden posts, one had to be dug out and reset as it was way too loose. So Jay and I did that while Alan sorted out the truck and trailer , as he was hiring a tractor and mower from town for Sunday. after he picked those up our normal chinese restaurant was closed for July 4th weekend.. ugh. So we tried a takeaway from another one in town. BAD DECISION - 2 hours later both of us were suffering food poisoning. It takes alot for Alan's stomach to react to any bad food. Me on the other hand, well, my system is so weak now that I was bad. (for 3 days) Alan's all calmed down by 2nd. I've never used Yelp before but I left 3 reviews on 3 different sites! So next morning, both feeling blah, we were outside to finish off the gate , so finding the other post for the gate was loose - so dug that out and while I was doing that, Alan was going to mow but after we had gotten it off the trailer.. it would not restart! he tried everything for several hours throughout Sunday . So snotty voicemail to the hire company for Monday morning I was still extremely bad from F.P and couldn't do much at all. Alan finally got the tractor started and spent a few hours mowing the yard. Way more fun than mowing a little garden with a lawn mower! Toys! Tuesday was a cool night - the wrens were going crazy and so noisy - the babies were leaving the nest and doing flying lessons on the deck . One was cornered in the rose bushes but after I had walked down he had found his bravado and got some height and flew to a nearby tree. The parents were constantly shouting at them to get back in the box at dusk .. typical kids going to bed routine. There are 3 babies and the deck has been noisy since - I'm uploading a video of the noise but awaiting to get video of the babies too but they are hard to see still.
Wednesday my pains, spasms and nausea still causing alot of problems with the IBS-C. no details I promise, but after the past 2 weeks it has been getting worse, the FP did not help me at all. On Tuesday we talked about what else could be causing the problems and last year while I was having PT / Massage on my neck and scoliosis, Caroline used to deep massage by abdomen to pull the scar tissue off of my organs as I was having problems (this is from 2 spinal surgeries and the fusion) but now the scar tissue and adhesions have gotten worse , thicker and spreading, so constricting all the sphincters and both intestines - so Wednesday morning I called to see if she had any appointments and she did. So an hour of abuse and torture as she pulled and broke up the scar tissue , in the early morning hours it all paid off ! So now it looks like to help with this , I may have to see Caroline twice a month so my ablutions can be more reliable as the scar tissue spreads .
I must get a real bike, as I hate the stationary boring gym stuff, plus the dogs will have fun too with me
So that was the busy week just gone. I'm currently in kitchen , made cookie bars yesterday and today is huge stew . Alan is going away Monday for the rest of the month to his office in Dubois
Hopefully Alan and Jay will be picking up hay from Greg in Sheridan at the weekend too so it's all go here for the summer!

Dad - Yep Cookie has recovered, she has a way of being so sick and she's bouncing back quickly Sadly the IBS is the symptoms of the cause of the scar tissue so it will always have that problem from now on.. plus reaction to food and blocking . Its exactly what Tammy Wynette had with her scar tissue, but she kept having it removed - so adding more scar tissue , resulting in her dying because of it. I wont be getting surgery to remove it .. Caroline can do her thing and break it all up each time it gets too bad The mowing we had to do as the front pasture was 80% weeds, and no chance of whatever…
Obviously a lot going on at Muppet Trail Ranch! Glad to hear that Cookie came around after his experiment with change of diet but, as you say, an emotional roller coaster. Still having IBS issues too? Haven't heard of deep tissue massage to treat it but if it works ....... Sounds like the bad Chinese meal you had would've loosened up your bowels though! Photos of the wild flowers in the meadows there show how warm/wet a summer you're having - bet the horses are having a ball! Hope Alan skirted around the daisies that you had when he was mowing, seems a shame to flatten everything. Pity about your poor send off from your your S303S colleagues/friends, the end…
