Lion & Horses & Vet oh my

It's been quite a morning. As I was doing the horses , I went to take Shoni and Tink hay , as i got to the gate Shoni came straight over and then I saw all the blood and mess he was in. Ran to the house, got the halters and bought them both down to the corrals and after a better inspection I knew exactly what had happened. I then called Sean, our vet, he rearranged appointments and was here within the hour He confirmed my theory .. it was a Mountain Lion attack The worst injury is Shoshoni's nose - skin pulled off too the bone and a deep gash , I told Sean about his breathing and he cleaned out the wound quickly and both sinus pockets are punctured and his nose part of the skull is broken . He was lucky it could have been a lot worse or fatal He has alot of deep claw incisions all over his neck, in-between his front legs and luckily they will heal without stitches.

The scenario we came to was the lion was locked onto Shoni's nose, fangs piercing the sinuses and locked so breaking the nose part of the skull, lion's hind legs scratching under the neck and in-between legs and front legs around and on Shoni's neck trying to bring him down He then sedated Shoni so he could fixed what he could on Shoni's nose Poor Shoni, he started falling asleep and wobbly and Sean got to work and after closing everything up it was Antibiotic and a painkiller/inflammation shot .. I have painkiller paste to give and on sunday I'll do the other AB shot I'm now keeping Shoni and Tink in for 2 weeks , when Sean will return to take out the sutures and check the fusion of his skull now its hunt the house for all my Savlon - best stuff ever - thank goodness amazon has it now :)
