(Updated 14th Nov in blue)
Its been an eventful start to the month and alot of things going on now we are in winter Let's see if I can do this without being all over the place
The horses now come in every night to the corrals, they're getting older so they have shelter now at night and also as it's all lit up down there then it keeps the lion away aswell
so daily cleanup in the corrals - that keeps me busy and exercise too , I release the horses at dawn and then wait a couple of hours to do that so it warms up
Alan got back on 1st November and he's been busy since with the ranch honey-do list
We did have a really decent snow dump a few days before , and i was struggling to get the snow shifted and finally after 9yrs , and because we're getting old and cranky, we got our own skidsteer - a lil JCB - it's brilliant. It has a bucket at the moment but we will get a snowblade and forks for it aswell. Last Thursday I spent a few hours in it doing corral cleanup (as I couldn't do it due to getting the 6by down there , so we used the JCB to do that :)
Jay also came home as he had to get his knee looked at - didn't get very far with that so he'll have more luck up in Idaho Falls
He and I got new tires on the same day - he had to as he went to town with the studded winter tires and the rat had eaten thru one of them - they had a few more seasons left on them too. And the Jeep needed some decent winter ones , so i now have winter and a summer set as my original tires have alot of life left on them
Also new phone for me and we both got new laptops (Rockhead had a very good year so instead of taxman getting it, we used it instead -skidsteer/laptops etc)
Medically, I am still battling and in 24-7 pain. Tomorrow (12th) I have a call with a scheduler for a neurosurgeon at a Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. (Dr Atkinson -aka Neuro5) To book an appointment which will hopefully lead to surgery. Hopefully he can do consults on Zoom and go thru all my files, scans etc to let me know thathe can treat me. As Neuro4 just wasted my time, about 2 months) before going thru my case then telling me no I can't help you! Hence now why it's time to go national hunting for a neurosurgeon.
Updated :: I have a Zoom consult on Dec 7th, on the proviso they receive all my medical reports and scans from all previous neurosurgeons - luckily Dr G has all of them too, as I made sure all sent to her aswell, so she is faxing everything and yesterday I sent my disc from the MRI's up to them so should be good for the 7th and then shall see what the next step is
It's been a very bad 10 days as I have been extremely congested and flemmy - adding more severe pain to my eyes, sinuses and nose. the pain was overwhelming me. Still sleeping sitting up as my head cannot be low , that luckily is clearing up some now and making it easier
Another moron drove through the highway fence too - too fast at dawn on black ice and he rolled 4 times and was upside down in the pasture!
Not doing TG this year - no-one is coming over so it will be a normal day. On the 21st Paddington will be here so shall do a big roast then. He's bringing my Xmas present - he's the guy that got my Rega system last year. So as Paddington is coming up, I had to make marmalade - which I made yesterday - it's definite suck your cheeks in one - lemon and lime!
Alan will be going to Arizona on 22nd November for 10 days or so then straight back down to El Centro and he'll be back for Xmas. Not sure what's happening then either. But I will still do all the cooking and the baking etc
Lessons with Beastie are going brilliantly. She does go back to In-School as of the 16th November, so I have a feeling today is the last lesson session. Gutting as we have such a great time and she's so smart and I love challenging her as she always excels with whatever we are doing.
There's a chance that both Grandkids will be here for 2 weeks in Jan/Feb so that Sophie & Ross can move from Anchorage to Vermont - alot easier without kids around and Nana has a fantastic chance to have them here - I'm extremely excited!
