I think this is to become an annual thing - last year the Rega and System with Paddington was Xmas Part 1, and again this year. When the worlds of Paddington and Alan align and they are both not away working and can get together and secretly plan and conspire!
Saturday 21st
I made bread in the morning, 2 reasons, first Alan is going away 2moro for Az for 10 days then down to El Centro till Xmas and also Paddington! Have to have fresh bread with homemade lemon and lime marmalade! Got to keep the bear happy!
and i did all the food prep for dinner - A Claire Roast !
Sergio arrived just after 1pm, with Callie his white retriever. And he was bearing gifts and boxes . Time to spoil Claire day had begun
I had quite a few boxes to unwrap that's for sure
An Espresso machine and a very snazzy coffee bean grinder . My counter looks looks like a coffee shop and wow the smell is amazing.
It took quite a while to set up and also i have to learn about each kind of bean - as the grinder as to be adjusted to different kinds until the grind is perfect for the espresso machine
After it was all set up the boys went for a walkabout to use up the energy from the shots we had made and I played some more with the machine and my first cappuccino came out perfect , the milk/froth .. I haven't been able to get it as good since mind you haha
After I got the horses in for the night I started food.. The dinner was big and came out so well and the bear experienced his first Claire Roast Dinner - Lamb shoulder with fresh garlic, homegrown mint and rosemary , roast potatoes, roast butternut squash, steamed carrots , minted butter petite pois and cheesy, leeky, bacon bake with cauliflower ( and minted gravy)
And a few bottles of wine . I was done by 8pm and left the boys with their rum !
It's now 23rd , Alan is nearly at his destination in Az, Jay is on his way home for a break - altho a week early , 2 weeks at the ranch then he'll be back for Xmas.
I have a video conference with a Mayo Neurologist on Dec 23rd and Mayo neurosurgeon on Jan 6th - so shall see what happens next!
